1st Epworth was formed or Gazetted October 1945 under the command of Captain John Fillingham.  The Company went form strength to strength. Mr Fillingham reigned until 1949 when Mr A. J. Fields became the 2nd Captain. 1979 saw the resignation of Mr Fields and Mr E Mayer became Captain. Mr Mayer decided to hand the reigns over to Mr R Jones in 1994. Followed by Mr I.C. Fields until closure.

1st Epworth had a thriving Company, Going to regular camps, entering many competitions all over the region and outside, including band competitions, drill and many more. Some of the the events you can see below of the dedication of the Staff and the boy
